Welcome to the Grange-over-Sands and District Concert Club

We were fortunate that every concert in our 2018 season was superb, from the opening Ulverston Victoria High School Swing Band concert which helped to raise a £2583.00 donation to support the Grange Victoria Hall, to the final dazzling performance by pianist Daniel Lebhardt.

In between we were honoured to hear Sam Haywood give the world premiere of his composition "Nocturne", and we also arranged the first children's concert and workshop in the history of the club.  The latter, given by the Rautio Trio (piano violin and cello) was oversubscribed by local primary schools who have requested we repeat the exercise and also extend the invitation to those schools who were unable to attend. The pupils received an introduction to classical music which the teachers described as "brilliant" and the pupils as "fun". Trio Volant (oboe, clarinet and bassoon) will give a similar afternoon workshop on 5 July as well as the usual evening performance.

We have tried to offer a varied programme, welcoming back the post graduate opera students from the Royal Northern College of Music, and Prince Bishops Brass quintet who have been so popular in the past. New stars of the future from YCAT (Young Concert Artists Trust) appear plus local talent in the Eberle String Quintet.  We hope you enjoy all these concerts and would be pleased to receive any comments.
