Daniel Lebhardt, piano

Benjamin Baker, who was originally accompanying Daniel Lebhardt on the violin, is no longer able to come to Grange as he has been invited to take part in a prestigious international violin competition in Indianapolis

Daniel Lebhardt was born in Hungary.  He won 1st prize in the 2014 Young Concert Artists auditions in New York and also 1st prize in Paris. He was selected by YCAT in 2015 and a year later won the Most Promising Pianist‚Äč prize at the Sydney International Competition. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and at the Royal Academy of Music with Pascal Nemirovski.

Over the last two years he has given debut recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Merkin Concert Hall and Morgan Library in New York, the Kennedy Centre, Gardner Museum, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern  and Usedomer festival in Germany and the Steirisches Kammermusikfestival in Austria. Engagements this season include recitals at the Louvre in Paris, Wigmore Hall, Saffron Hall, Oxford and Nottingham International Piano Series, a debut with the White Nights Featival in St Petersburg and tours of China, Argentina, Colombia and Chile.

Daniel Lebhardt Shows Daring Command in a New York Debut.

Just playing (Liszt Sonata in B minor) commandingly, as Mr. Lebhardt did, is difficult enough.  He brought a narrative sweep and youthful abandon to the piece, along with power, poetry and formidable technique.
